Dear everyone, I hate to interrupt Maddy’s progress in teaching you about African American history, but as we all know, today just happened to be Groundhog Day, and Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and has given us six more weeks of winter.

Okay everyone, how is Groundhog Day still a thing?

Contrary to popular opinion, Groundhog Day began when the groundhog comes out from hibernation and looks around hoping to see his shadow. If he sees his shadow, then that would mean six more weeks of winter. But if he doesn’t, then we will have an early spring.

Darn. Looks like we have to endure six more weeks of winter.

Thanks a lot, Phil!
